Babita Biography

Farida Akter Popy (known as Babita) is a Bangladeshi film 

actress and producer.

She was one of the best actresses in Bangladeshi cinema during

the 1970s.

She gained international recognition for Satyajit Ray's film 

Ashni Sanket, which won the Golden Bear at the 23rd Berlin 

International Film Festival in 1973.

Babita has acted in over 350 films. She won the Best Actress

award three times in a row after the National Film Awards were 

introduced in 1975. She also won the Best Actress award again

in 1976, 1977, and 1985, the Best Producer award in 1996,

and the Best Supporting Actress award in 2002 and 2011.

She was also awarded the National Film Awards' Lifetime

 Achievement Award in 2016.
