Salman Khan Biography

Abdur Rashid Salim Salman Khan is an Indian film actor, 

producer and television personality who works predominantly

in Hindi films. In a career spanning over three decades,

he has received numerous awards, including two National Film 

Awards as a producer and two Filmfare Awards as an actor. 

Bollywood's biggest star, Salman Khan, is considered one

of the highest-paid actors in both world and Indian cinema.

He is ranked 82nd in the world in Forbes magazine's 2018

list of the world's 100 highest-paid celebrities.

The eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan,

Salman Khan made his Bollywood debut in 1988 with a

supporting role in the film Biwi Ho To Aisi.

His first film in a leading role, Maine Peer Kiya (1989),

was a commercial success.

He won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor for his work

in the film. He then gave Bollywood several commercially 

successful Hindi films in the 1990s, including the romantic

drama Hum Aapke Hain Kaun..! (1994),

the action thriller Karan Arjun (1995), the comedy Judwaa (1997), 

the romance Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998),

the comedy Biwi Number One (1999) and the family drama

Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999).

After a brief hiatus in the 2000s, he rose to stardom in the 2010s. 

During this period, he played the lead roles in the commercially 

successful films Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011),

Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), Sultan (2016) and 

Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).

In addition, he has been serving as the host of the Bigg Boss 

competition since 2010.
